Two Green People products have been bestowed awards from Ethical Living Magazine after receiving many votes from consumers.

The organic Sun Lotion SPF15 was named Best Sun Care Product, whilst the Lavender Baby Wash & Shampoo was highly commended in the Best Baby Product category.

We are over the moon that so many Ethical Living Magazine readers voted for Green People products and were delighted to receive the awards.

Green People's natural shampoos have been named a 'Best Buy' by Ethical Consumer after an excellent result in their 2010 buyers' guide to shampoos, scoring 15.5 out of 20.

With issues as varied as animal testing, climate change and use of SLS, parabens and palm oil investigated in the report, the shampoos were subject to rigorous appraisal.

We were extremely pleased to see we received an extra point for the Green People company's ethos, as well as another for product sustainability.

The 2010 TIPS Awards, organised by midwife Sharon Trotter, saw Green People's Organic Babies range win awards for four of our natural baby products.

We were delighted to receive the following accolades:

Best Eco Friendly Children's Shampoo - No Scent Baby Wash
Best Organic Toothpaste - Mandarin Toothpaste & Spearmint Toothpaste
Best Organic Baby Lotion - No Scent Baby Lotion
Best Organic Nappy Cream - Nappy Cream Baby Balm

Green People's Baby Salve has reached the final stages of the Practical Parenting Awards 2009/2010.

Up against stiff competition in the baby skin care category, our organic baby salve reached a place in the final with just eight others.

It really is a wonderful product and its recognition in this well known magazine's awards is well deserved.

Here is the TIPS summary of the Baby Foaming Cleanser after extensive testing by lots of mums:

A multipurpose product, Organic Babies foaming cleanser provides an innovative alternative to baby wipes.

Backed up by over ten years of research its safe formulation is over 96% organic, suitable for vegetarians and certified by the Organic Food Federation.

All products in the Organic Babies range are handmade in small batches using the most natural and organic ingredients. This makes them ideal for even the most sensitive skin types.

Ideal for hands, faces, and bottoms, the cleanser can be squirted directly onto the skin, used with a washable wipe or natural sponge. It is also great for cleaning highchairs, change-mats and toys.

Testers loved the light consistency of the foam which was easy to dispense even with one hand (very handy with a wriggly baby to deal with).

The even distribution of the foam avoids the need to use product in a concentrated form. Testers also liked the fact that the cleanser dried quickly leaving the skin lovely soft and moisturised.

The price tag is a little high, but a little does go a long way and with so many uses the Organic Babies foaming cleanser really is a handy addition to a baby bag.

One Tester suggested using washable wipes with plain water to clean the nappy area and finishing off with a squirt of the foam.

Here are some of the Testers’ comments:

• Knowing the ingredients were pure and free from harmful ingredients
• It is effective without being harsh
• Very easy to use with one hand because of the pump dispenser
• Lovely! Soft, smooth dries quickly and leaves skin soft, no residue
• It didn’t bother his skin and he is prone to nappy rash
• I didn’t think it would work so well on nappy changes so I was very pleased
• Me and my partner used it on our hands and found it very good
• Far and away exceeded my expectations, am impressed with its cleansing powers!

The Green People Company is known for its green credentials and ethical trading – they donate 10% of their profits to ‘green’ issues.

All Testers agreed this is indeed a useful product for babies, toddlers and children. Its antibacterial properties give added peace of mind.

Green People awarded highest ‘Ethiscore’ in toothpaste head-to-head

Green People were thrilled to come out tops in the Jan/Feb issue of Ethical Consumer Magazines Best Buy Guide. Our top selling organic & fluoride free formulations were measured against toothpaste industry giants and fellow 'green' companies achieving an incredible top ranking 'ethiscore' of 16 out of 20, beating brands such as Kingfisher, Weleda, Colgate and Crest.  The in-depth analysis took into account the impact each brand has on the environment, animals and people, as well as its attitude to political issues and the general company ethos. Green People’s Organic Babies range has won seven 2007-2008 TIPS Awards, with four baby skin care products being ‘Highly Commended’ and another two being classed as being the ‘Best Eco Friendly’ product in their category.

The TIPS Awards are the brainchild of midwife Sharon Trotter, who has been working with breastfeeding mums for the past twenty years.  A published author of tips and advice on breastfeeding, she also has an interest in neonatal skincare and has done plenty of research on the subject.

Her 2007 study involved the wide-scale testing of 52 baby skin care products from 11 manufacturers, including Green People’s Organic Babies range.
